9 Businesses Named ‘Best Workplaces for Waste Prevention/Recycling’

Nine SeaTac businesses are on the list of King County’s Solid Waste Division’s 92 organizations in its sixth annual “Best Workplaces for Waste Prevention and Recycling” list.

The 2012 list includes a wide array of businesses including hospitality, medical services, professional services, retail, finance, government, arts and entertainment, and others. Award beneficiaries are recognized for strong internal recycling programs and their exceptional commitment to reducing the amount of waste their company sends to the landfill.

The City of SeaTac nine businesses on the list are:

  • Doubletree Hotel Seattle Airport
  • Hilton Seattle Airport and Conference Center
  • LBS (Les Boulangers Associes) Bakery
  • Port of Seattle at Sea-Tac International Airport
  • Seattle Airport Marriott Hotel
  • Sharps Roast House
  • The BBQ Schacht
  • Windsor Heights
  • The City of SeaTac

The city encourages businesses to optimize their recycling and offers a free small business recycling outreach program that addresses waste reduction specifically designed to the individual business’s needs.
