Our language has changed and meanings reversed. In the classical sense I would be considered a Liberal Progressive. You say you are kidding, right? Let me justify that.

Classical Liberalism (see: represented a limitation in government’s power over its people and allowed more individual freedom. This is not how liberalism is considered today. In fact it is quite the opposite. ┬áThe government is now considered the savior to all our problems–both economic and social. The word has been co-opted by those who DESIRE government power over its people.

Progressivism used to mean forward thinking and many perceived it as advancing math, social thought, and the sciences (see: Progressivism has now come to mean Socialism or at least socialist leanings. Socialism is a failed system unless you consider the US’s experiment many years ago (see:

With both of these words/terms co-opted/hijacked by TODAY’S Progressives we have reversed their meaning and now the Progressives seem to want to try failed Socialism again. This is NOT progressive but regressive!

Today’s Liberal Progressives are all about power/control over your daily lives using arguments such as Climate Change, Social Justice, and Living Wages to forward their agenda of having control and dependence of the masses on the government at every level.

If you are so inclined to read the references you will find we are being led down a dark road that has been traveled before using language manipulation and other methods that have destroyed the true meaning of being a Liberal Progressive. I wonder what is being in taught in our schools today? Has government’s desire to dominate the people ever really changed over time? ┬áThe only thing that has changed is the language spin, hyped issues, and the methods of execution.

What am I now? There is no label you can place on me because nothing fits. I (and others) refuse to endorse policies that have not worked in the past and do the same thing over and expect a different outcome. Human nature has not changed over the short period of recorded history. I just find it humorous that factions try to convince people it has. Most still live in fear of government power and this fear is exploited by all sides of the human equation.

Labels, Labels, Labels. The labels have been twisted by people that do not read a dictionay.

How about “continual improvement” for SeaTac? Something we are missing and needed now.
