Sea-Tac Airport worker charged with Manslaughter

A charge of ‘Manslaughter in the First Degree’ was filed last week against a cargo handler at Sea-Tac Airport who allegedly slapped a co-worker who later died, according to the King County Prosecutor’s Office.

The defendant, Taumailelei Mapusua Jr., was involved in a verbal dispute with an airline employee on July 5 in a cargo area of the airport. The defendant allegedly slapped the other man. When the victim fell, the back of his head hit concrete.

Mapusua, 27, remains in jail with bail set at $1 million.

Arraignment is scheduled for July 23 at the King County Courthouse.
