6th annual FREE Ice Cream Social and Concert with Ciscoe will be Aug. 17
by Wendy Morgan and Jennifer Muscolo
Due to a spirited fan demand, a Sixth Annual Free Ice Cream Social and Concert with a Silent Auction and Plant Sale will happen at the Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden (HSBG) on Sunday, Aug. 17th from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
To ensure that the community has the best possible experience, HSBG will not only have local gardening expert, Ciscoe Morris, on-hand to speak and plant a pot for auction, but HSBG will also present for a second consecutive time the Salt Water Saints – a pop/country western oldies revival band.
Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden will also provide free ice cream to the first 300 visitors. New and renewal members who join the garden will receive a clay pot courtesy of the Gardens and Washington Pottery. Recology CleanScapes has graciously sponsored Ciscoe who will be available to be stumped for any number of prizes. Also, enter to win a raffle for other prizes donated by the City of SeaTac, including a compost bin and rain barrel.
HSBG also welcomes you to present questions to Garden representatives and other Master Gardeners. Take time to meet the author of Walking Washington Gardens, Angie Narus, who will be available to autograph her book highlighting the 30 best gardens in Washington State, which features Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden. There will be free tours, a plant sale of propagated plants from the HSBG, and best of all a silent auction of garden-related items. There are real bargains to be had.
As one can tell, it will certainly be a great day to visit the Garden. Any day is an opportunity to tour the Highline SeaTac Botanical Gardens often called the jewel of Southwest King County. Why not make it August 17th?
