Shooting near Angle Lake in SeaTac Monday night injures 2

A shooting in the 19500 block of International Blvd. South near Angle Lake Monday night (April 9) has injured two, police said.

Police say that at around 5:40 p.m., multiple 911 callers reported seeing a male shooting a gun towards a vehicle at Angle Lake Park.

KCSO/SeaTac Police arrived and located numerous shell casings at the park but were unable to locate any victims.

Witnesses reported a male involved had just fled to a vehicle near the boat launch. Police located a 22-year old male who was identified as being involved, and recovered a handgun on the suspect.

About an hour after the initial call, a local hospital advised two victim’s ages, 17 and 19 had just arrived with gunshot wounds. Both males sustained non-life threatening injuries.

“At this point, Detectives are continuing to investigate on what led up to the shooting, but it appears the suspects are possibly gang affiliated,” Sgt. Ryan Abbott said. “The information we have so far – some type of disturbance occurred in the park that lead up to the shooting. Multiple shots were fired at the park, more suspects may still be outstanding. The victims were driven to the hospital by a friend.”

A house located across the lake from where the shooting occurred was struck by a stray bullet. No one was injured in the home.

Detectives continue to investigate.
