City of SeaTac seeking applicants for Airport Advisory Committee

The SeaTac City Council is seeking applications from residents interested in serving as the Citizen Representative on the Washington State Department of Commerce Sea-Tac Airport Advisory Committee (SSAC).

The SSAC began in 2018 when the Washington State Legislature directed the Department of Commerce to conduct a study of the current impacts and benefits of the Sea-Tac International Airport on the surrounding communities including:

  • Burien
  • Des Moines
  • Federal Way
  • Normandy Park
  • SeaTac
  • Tukwila

Commerce is requesting each City select a public representative for the SSAC.

Appointed SSAC participants will be able to share information, discuss community concerns and provide input on developing the “statement of work” to be included in the Study of current impacts and benefits.

The SeaTac community member will be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council following the City’s Citizen Advisory Committee vacancy process. If you are interested in being considered, please fill out a Citizen Advisory Committee application and background check form and submit them to the City Clerk, 4800 South 188th Street, SeaTac, WA 98188 – originals only.

Applications will be accepted until Friday, Sept. 28, 2018
