The City of SeaTac is inviting the community to celebrate the upgraded Valley Ridge Sports Complex this Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, with a Ribbon Cutting at 10 a.m.
The city-funded renovation includes new synthetic turf on three existing sports fields and complete reconstruction of the fourth field including the addition of an LED lighting system.
The city also added a new restroom building with concession area, parks maintenance storage and perimeter landscaping.
The fourth playfield portion is expected to be completed within a few weeks.
“We have been eyeing these upgrades since we installed synthetic turf on these fields in 2007,” said Parks, Community Programs & Services Director Lawrence Ellis. “With the latest improvements, I believe we have returned the Valley Ridge sports complex to a premier destination for sport enthusiasts in South King County.”
The $4.5 million dollar project began in March and is expected to be completed by November 2018.
The Valley Ridge project was designed by Bruce Dees & Associates, LLC.and constructed by Coast to Coast Turf, Inc.
