SeaTac City Councilmember Peter Kwon joins 4Culture’s board of directors

SeaTac City Councilmember Peter Kwon this week joined the Board of Directors of 4Culture, King County’s cultural funding and services agency supporting arts, heritage, preservation and public art.

Kwon is now a member of the 15-person Board, which serves as the governing body of 4Culture, with individuals representing the cultural, geographic and ethnic diversity of King County.

4Culture is supported by Lodging Taxes and the 1% for Art ordinance.

The King County Council and Executive Dow Constantine appointed him on July 30, 2018.

Kwon works as a Systems Engineer for Napster, the pioneering digital music streaming company headquartered in Seattle. He has been a City of SeaTac Councilmember since 2016, where he launched the Arts, Culture, and Library Advisory Committee to promote community involvement and participation.  With a lifelong passion for arts and culture, Peter is a member of the Highline Historic Society, the Highline Botanical Garden, and frequently helps to organize various community events.

“Peter is an independent thinker and strong advocate for arts and culture in South King County. I am excited to have him serving on the 4Culture Board of Directors,” said Dave Upthegrove, King County Councilmember.

Kwon added:

“I’m honored and excited to represent King County’s District 5 to support and promote arts and culture for everyone.”
