SeaTac Police / King County Sheriff’s Office are reminding residents that they have zero tolerance for drunk drivers:

The city of SeaTac has zero tolerance for drunk drivers. As a contract city and partner of the King County Sheriff’s Office, SeaTac deputies are on the lookout for impaired drivers who put themselves and others at risk. This incident is particularly troublesome, read on to find out why.

On November 14th, 2020 at 9:13 p.m., the driver of a Hyundai Elantra was pulled over for an improper lane change in the 4800 block of South 188th Street. This is right in front of City Hall by the way, where the police station is.

Anyway, the deputy noticed a strong odor of intoxicants on the female driver and her eyes were bloodshot and watery. She agreed to voluntary field sobriety tests, but failed. She was arrested and read her rights.

In talking with the driver, deputies discovered that she had been arrested for DUI in another county just 24 hours prior. Obviously that arrest was not a deterrent to driving drunk.

The woman, a resident of Pierce County, was processed for DUI and booked into SCORE (South Correctional Entity) jail.
