SUMMARY:Skunk Works Robotics Open House
DESCRIPTION:Skunk Works Robotics will be holding two Open Houses this month – on Thursday\, Sept. 1 and Thursday\, Sept. 8\, 2022. \nBoth will run from 6:30–8 p.m. \nSkunk Works Robotics is a competitive robotics team based in the Highline area. It is affiliated with 4-H and accepts members from any school\, including homeschoolers. The team utilizes a workspace graciously provided by Highline Public Schools. \nThe Skunk Works team has been in the Highline area for 16 years and has won numerous awards as part of FIRST Robotics. Skunk Works is looking for new members who want an opportunity to build and utilize their skills in CAD\, public speaking\, programming\, graphic design\, statistical analysis\, wiring\, marketing or parts fabrication to compete at the highest levels of high school robotics. The team functions as a business and students learn marketable skills and teamwork under the supervision of mentors. \nMeetings in the fall are twice a week. The team meets 4 days a week and on Saturdays when the competition season begins in January. We are accepting students in grades 8-10 at this time. \nSkunk Works will have two open house sessions\, Sept. 1 and Sept. 8. SUMMARY:Touch-A-Truck event is returning to SeaTac on Saturday\, Sept. 10
DESCRIPTION:The City of SeaTac will be bringing back its popular\, free Touch-A-Truck event on Saturday\, Sept. 10\, 2022 to the Valley Ridge parking lot. \nThis is a long-standing traditional event the city hosts\, but when the pandemic hit\, many of SeaTac’s events were cancelled for two years. \nThe event starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. There will be a quiet hour from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. for those with sensory limitations. \nAt this free event there will be emergency vehicles and other vehicles that provide services to the community\, all available for kids of all ages to explore. \n“Stop by and explore – this is a free family event.” \nThis event is free and includes face painting\, bouncy houses and a train ride. \nJoin the Tyee Student Snack Drive\nThe “Friends of Tyee High School” have organized a snack drive to benefit students attending Tyee.
