SUMMARY:SeaTac will release salmon into Des Moines Creek on Saturday\, April 27
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, April 27\, 2024 at 10 a.m.\, the City of SeaTac will hold an event to release the Coho salmon that they have raised at the SeaTac Community Center into Des Moines Creek. \nThe event will be held at the Des Moines Creek Trail at 2151 S. 200 St. in SeaTac. Parking is limited at the trailhead. Please park at Angle Lake Park and a shuttle to the trail will be provided every 10 minutes starting at 9:30 a.m. \nAt this family-friendly event\, you will learn about how stormwater impacts the health of SeaTac’s creeks and lakes\, the lifecycle of salmon and what you can do to help keep salmon safe and healthy. You will be able to pick out and name your very own salmon to release into the creek. \nThese salmon will live in the creek for about a year then migrate out to Puget Sound and then the ocean. They will live in the ocean until about 3-4 years old then return to Des Moines Creek to spawn. \nHelp celebrate the beginning of the journey for these salmon and join us for this family-friendly event.
