DESCRIPTION:Free live theater is coming to a park near you this summer as BAT Theatre continues its six-park tour of the romantic comedy The Guardsman with a family-friendly performance at Burien Town Square Park (map below)\, starting at 5 p.m. on Sunday\, Aug. 3. \n\n\n\nSynopsis\n\n\n\n “A popular actor suspects his new actress wife is getting restless\, so he takes on his most daring role yet—disguising himself as a dashing guardsman—to test his wife and win her love. The actor sweeps his wife off her feet\, creates romance and drama\, and nearly torpedoes their marriage in the process. \n\n “The Guardsman ultimately asks the question: “Where does the acting end and true emotion begin?” \n\n\n\n“Bring a chair or blanket to sit on\,” BAT said in a statement. “Support your local eateries by making this a dinner and a show event. SUMMARY:Level Up Youth Conference returns to SeaTac with 80s energy and career support
DESCRIPTION:The YMCA of Greater Seattle’s Social Impact Center is bringing back its annual “Level Up” youth empowerment conference on Friday\, Aug. 8\, 2025\, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Matt Griffin YMCA in SeaTac (map below). \nDesigned for young people ages 14 to 24\, the free event offers a full day of high-energy learning and fun\, from job readiness and life skills workshops to live music\, food trucks and a throwback 80s fitness theme. \nParticipants can expect career and college prep sessions\, resume and cover letter help\, professional headshots\, and access to a curated job and resource fair. \nInteractive workshops will cover financial literacy\, housing\, cooking\, photography and more. \n“This event reflects our commitment to interrupting trauma and creating pathways for all youth to thrive\,” said Mark Putnam\, Vice President of the YMCA Social Impact Center. \nAttendees are encouraged to dress in 80s-style workout gear — think neon spandex and side ponytails — and enjoy food from local trucks Incredibowls\, Birrieria Pepe El Toro and Paparepas\, with a live DJ keeping the energy high throughout the day. \nThe event is part of the Y’s ongoing mission to support youth facing systemic barriers including homelessness\, poverty and racism\, and is made possible with support from foundry10\, Commerce Bank of Washington\, BNB Builders and the YMCA’s Matt Griffin branch. \nFor More Information\, Click Here\nMatt Griffin YMCA is located at 3595 S. 188th Street:
