Residents will have an opportunity to safely dispose of a wide variety of household items at the City of SeaTac’s Recycling Event on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. near the BMX track (map below).

The popular event, which takes place on S. 136th Street between Des Moines Memorial Drive and 2000 S. 136th St., will feature designated drop-off lanes for items including used batteries, antifreeze, oil filters, electronics, scrap metal, and more.

Vehicles are asked to enter from South 138th Street off Des Moines Memorial Drive, and no entry will be allowed after 3 p.m.

Attendees are asked not to line up before 8:30 a.m.

Among the accepted items:

  • Batteries (sorted by type)
  • Oil, oil filters, and antifreeze (limit 25 gallons/household; no container larger than 5 gallons)
  • Propane tanks and tires (limit 10 per vehicle)
  • Cardboard (flattened)
  • Toilets and porcelain sinks
  • Scrap metal and appliances (all fluids must be removed)
  • Plastic film and CFL light bulbs
  • Electronics (excluding vacuum cleaners)
  • Confidential materials for shredding (limit 3 boxes per vehicle)
