Firefighters rescued a dog and extinguished a residential fire Wednesday morning in the 4800 block of South 172nd Street, according to Puget Sound Fire.

Crews were dispatched at 5:34 a.m. on July 23, 2025 to a confirmed residential fire on S. 172nd Street near McMicken Heights.

Upon arrival, firefighters found flames in the home’s carport area.

Multiple units responded to the scene, including Engine 347, Ladder 346, and several others, according to 911 dispatch records.

Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported, but firefighters did successfully rescue one dog from the house, and officials confirmed the animal was unharmed.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
