The City of SeaTac is inviting residents to get their hands dirty and give back to local green spaces through its Green SeaTac Partnership.
The city is currently recruiting community members to become Forest Stewards at Angle Lake Park, Des Moines Creek Park, McMicken Park, and North SeaTac Park, with onboarding planned for September 2025.
Forest Stewards receive onsite training in restoration ecology, tools, materials such as plants and mulch, and support for leading community events.
Forest Stewards will receive:
- Onsite training on restoration ecology
- Tool access
- Access to materials (Plants, mulch)
- Support leading events if desired!
Paid opportunities available for those who qualify:
- Can commit to two years of work at approximately seven hours per month
- Are interested in plants, parks, or the environment
- Are able to verbally communicate in English
- Live near one of the priority parks listed
- Are able to do physical activity including bending over, lifting up to 25 pounds, and walking over uneven ground
- Are 18 or older or will be accompanied by an adult
