Puget Sound Fire, its firefighter partners and the City of SeaTac are sponsoring their annual Toys for Joy and Jerry Woods Holiday Engine programs to provide food and toys to families in need across south King County during the holiday season.

The Toys for Joy program collects new, unwrapped toys for children up to 12 years old.

Donations are gathered, sorted, wrapped and delivered to local food banks and outreach organizations for distribution to families within Puget Sound Fire’s response area.

In addition to toys, the program also accepts nonperishable food and monetary donations. Cash and checks go directly toward supporting local families, the agency said.

Donations are being accepted at all Puget Sound Fire stations and participating businesses through Dec. 31. Stations accept donations from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Donors are asked to ring the doorbell if station doors are locked. Fire crews will respond if they are in the station but may be unavailable if they are out on an emergency call.

Monetary donations can also be made online here or by texting TOYS4JOY to 366283.

“Thank you for helping make a child’s holiday special!”
