Glacier Middle School students and families are invited to support the school’s band and orchestra programs through two upcoming fundraisers, including a restaurant benefit in Burien and a spaghetti dinner concert at the school, according to Glacier Middle School Band.
Proceeds from the fundraisers will help send the band and students to a national music competition at Silverwood in Idaho, marking the first time the school has ever qualified to participate in the event.
School officials said the trip would give students an opportunity to perform on a national stage while representing SeaTac and the Highline community, with funds helping cover travel, lodging and competition expenses for the student musicians.

The first fundraiser will take place Friday, Jan. 23 at Panda Express, located at 15842 First Avenue South in Burien (map below). Twenty percent of event sales during the fundraiser period will be donated to support Glacier Middle School Orchestra and Band, organizers said.
The fundraiser will run from 9:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., according to organizers.
