The Burien License Agency will hold a soft opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Feb. 20, from 12:30 to 2 p.m., with Mayor Sarah Moore set to handle the big scissors.

This free event will also include food and raffle prizes, and will mark the agency’s return to service, with its first official full day of business set for Monday, Feb. 23.

The Friday soft opening will focus on welcoming the community and celebrating the reopening. The agency said regular vehicle licensing services will begin the following Monday.

Burien License Agency describes itself as a locally owned and operated vehicle licensing office focused on fast and accessible service. “Your local choice for fast Vehicle Licensing Services. Get your tabs, titles, and plates in minutes — no appointment needed,” the agency states in its promotional materials.

Agency representatives say their mission is to provide a streamlined alternative to traditional government licensing offices. The office assists customers with vehicle tabs, title transfers, license plates, new vehicle registrations, inheritance transfers and out of state vehicle registrations.

“As a locally owned and operated team, we know Washington state laws inside and out,” the agency said in its statement. “We take pride in our ability to simplify the complex.”

The agency also emphasized customer service and efficiency as central priorities. “For us, this isn’t just about processing paperwork; it’s about serving our community with the respect and efficiency you deserve,” the statement said.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 23, regular business hours will begin as the agency resumes full vehicle licensing operations for customers in Burien and surrounding South King County communities.
