The YMCA of Greater Seattle’s Social Impact Center is bringing back its annual “Level Up” youth empowerment conference on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Matt Griffin YMCA in SeaTac (map below).
Designed for young people ages 14 to 24, the free event offers a full day of high-energy learning and fun, from job readiness and life skills workshops to live music, food trucks and a throwback 80s fitness theme.
Participants can expect career and college prep sessions, resume and cover letter help, professional headshots, and access to a curated job and resource fair.
Interactive workshops will cover financial literacy, housing, cooking, photography and more.
“This event reflects our commitment to interrupting trauma and creating pathways for all youth to thrive,” said Mark Putnam, Vice President of the YMCA Social Impact Center.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in 80s-style workout gear — think neon spandex and side ponytails — and enjoy food from local trucks Incredibowls, Birrieria Pepe El Toro and Paparepas, with a live DJ keeping the energy high throughout the day.
The event is part of the Y’s ongoing mission to support youth facing systemic barriers including homelessness, poverty and racism, and is made possible with support from foundry10, Commerce Bank of Washington, BNB Builders and the YMCA’s Matt Griffin branch.
Matt Griffin YMCA is located at 3595 S. 188th Street:
