SeaTac City Councilmember Joe Vinson has been appointed to the National League of Cities Transportation and Infrastructure Services Federal Advocacy Committee for 2026, the City of SeaTac announced.
Vinson was elected to a one-year term on the committee, where he will help provide strategic direction and guidance for the organization’s federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities, including local access to transportation programs for roads, safety, transit, rail and bridges.
The appointment was announced by National League of Cities President Kevin Kramer, a councilmember in Louisville, Kentucky, according to the city.
“I’m honored to be appointed to the National League of Cities Transportation and Infrastructure Services Federal Advocacy Committee,” Vinson said. “This work ensures cities like SeaTac have a voice as Congress considers federal transportation policy that directly affects airport impacted communities.”
As a member of the committee, Vinson will help shape the National League of Cities’ federal policy positions and advocate on behalf of cities, towns and villages before Congress, the administration and at the local level in SeaTac, the city said.
“The National League of Cities’ federal advocacy committees are the voice of America’s 19,000 cities, towns and villages to leaders in Washington,” Kramer said in the announcement. “I am thrilled to work with Councilmember Vinson and look forward to supporting their goals and ideas as they serve on the Transportation and Infrastructure Services Committee this year, helping to strengthen the partnership between local and federal leaders.”
The 2026 Transportation and Infrastructure Services Committee will be led by Chair Joshua Simmons, commissioner of Coral Springs, Florida, with Vice Chairs Bill Uphoff, councilmember of Lomita, California, and Chelsea Byers, mayor of West Hollywood, California, according to the City of SeaTac.
