Four teenagers, including two 14-year-olds, were arrested earlier this month in connection with what Burien Police described as a major car theft ring at Angle Lake Transit Station in SeaTac.
The arrests followed an operation lasting several weeks by the Sound Transit Special Emphasis Team, with help from Burien deputies, according to the Burien Police Department.
The other two suspects were 16 and 18.
FOX 13 reported that investigators focused on a series of thefts from the station’s parking garage over three weeks. The vehicles targeted were Kia and Hyundai models, and the thefts occurred on Saturday nights between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m., according to the station’s reporting, which cited investigators and court records.
“This isn’t a scene out of the Fast & the Furious,” Burien Police wrote in announcing the arrests.
Burien Police said all four suspects were booked on vehicle theft allegations and other suspected offenses.
The alleged offenses differed among the suspects. According to FOX 13, the two 14-year-olds were arrested on allegations of attempted vehicle theft and taking a motor vehicle without permission. The 16-year-old was arrested on allegations of possessing a stolen vehicle and attempting to elude police.
Prosecutors charged the 18-year-old with two counts of second-degree taking a motor vehicle without permission on Oct. 7, FOX 13 reported.
