Northwest Symphony Orchestra opens season with family concert in Burien on Saturday, Oct. 11

The Northwest Symphony Orchestra will launch its 2025-26 season with a family concert titled Adventures and Heroes at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Highline Performing Arts Center.

The concert, led by Music Director Anthony Spain, will feature a mix of symphonic classics and adventurous new works.

The program includes Rossini’s William Tell Overture, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, Clement Reid’s Adventure, Kathryn Griesinger’s Epic Adventure and Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto in A Minor (First Movement).

A highlight of the evening will be a solo performance by Avi Spillers, a Mount Rainier High School student and Key to Change violinist.

Organizers said the event is designed as a family-friendly introduction to symphonic music.

Students age 18 and under will be admitted FREE at the door.
