On Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at 5:02 p.m., SeaTac Police Deputies were dispatched to a report of a hit-and-run involving a vehicle vs a motorcycle at the location of S. 188th Street and 33 Ave S. (map below).

Deputies were provided with a license plate number and description of the suspected driver, who was listed as living near the collision.

Police said that witnesses stated that the vehicle had been on top of the motorcycle before it backed up and then parked on a nearby street.

Deputies found the vehicle and driver in the driver’s seat of the vehicle parked across the street from an apartment. The driver/suspect was detained, and post-Miranda admitted to drinking 2-3 canned mixed drinks. The odor of alcohol was detected on his breath, and he was placed under arrest. He is a 45-year-old male.

The rider of the motorcycle was transported to the hospital where it was reported that he may have had a broken rib, internal bleeding and possibly a broken pelvis. He is a 49-year-old male.

A warrant was obtained for the blood of the suspect driver, and he was taken to the hospital where his blood was drawn. He was then transported to King County Jail where he was booked for investigation of vehicular assault.

King County Detectives in the MARR Unit will be following up on this case, which is still active and open.
