From our sister site The Tukwila Blog:
Tukwila Police on Tuesday, Mar. 19, 2024 announced the recovery of a stolen KIA that a witness spotted parked at the Tukwila Light Rail Station – ‘full of bullet holes’ – and later found and arrested a wounded suspect at a local hospital.
Witnesses told police that several juveniles were seen exiting the vehicle, along with one who was being pulled out of it and put into another vehicle that sped off shortly thereafter.
Officers responded to the location and found the stolen KIA in the parking lot. The KIA was full of bullet holes and local hospitals were notified.
Shortly thereafter, officers responded to a hospital in Federal Way after receiving a report of a 15-year-old male that had been dropped off with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Officers were able to link that juvenile male and one other to the stolen KIA. The case has been forwarded to the Major Crimes Unit (MCU).
“This is one of many similar incidents involving young juveniles (sometimes as young as 12), stolen KIA’s and more often than not, stolen firearms,” police said. “A quick Google search of ‘juveniles KIA’ will show the alarming trend in our region, state and country of daily dangerous encounters between law enforcement and these groups of juveniles that are oftentimes armed. Carjackings, drive by shootings, robberies, assaults, burglaries, thefts and more continue to occur at an alarming rate across the region.”

Tukwila Police are searching for a group of juveniles believed to be operating a stolen Kia (WA license plate #CCK8725).
The vehicle has been reported to be involved in multiple incidents of reckless driving.
“The group is reported to be wearing ski masks, hanging out the windows (as pictured below), and has generated numerous 9-1-1 calls due to their less than stellar driving abilities and their whole mobile Cirque du KIA window acrobatics routine,” police said.
Authorities urge anyone who sees the vehicle to call 911 and not to approach the car.
