On Thursday, the Port of Seattle announced the sunsetting of the SEA Spot Saver program at Sea-Tac Airport.

Starting Nov. 30, 2026, SEA Spot Saver will no longer be available. All reservations booked from now until Nov. 29 will be honored at TSA Checkpoint 4.

Shorter security lines and declining use of SEA Spot Saver prompted the Port of Seattle to retire the reservation program, officials said, citing checkpoint upgrades designed to accommodate growth at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

The airport opened a new Checkpoint 1 in June 2025 and a redesigned Checkpoint 6 later that year as part of its UpgradeSEA program. With additional screening lanes and tools in place, more than 94% of travelers cleared security in 20 minutes or less this year, compared with 93% in 2025, according to the port. In each of the past two years, 99% cleared security within 30 minutes.

The port said fewer passengers are using Spot Saver because general screening lines are moving faster, with some travelers finding an open lane quicker than waiting for their reservation.

Spot Saver launched in 2021 to help manage checkpoint waits while the airport pursued more lasting improvements. The port describes SEA as the nation’s 11th busiest airport and its most constrained major airport in terms of available space.
