SeaTac residents will have an opportunity to responsibly dispose of household items and recyclable materials at the city’s spring recycling event on Sunday, Mar. 30, 2025.
The free recycling event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on South 136th Street, near Des Moines Memorial Drive and South 138th Street (map below), near the North SeaTac BMX track.
Accepted items include batteries, appliances, scrap metal, cardboard, porcelain sinks, toilets, propane tanks, CFL bulbs, plastic film, and electronics, excluding vacuum cleaners. The city advises participants to sort large batteries separately, flatten cardboard, and ensure all gases, fluids, or liquids are removed from scrap metal and appliances.
The event also accepts plastic film and CFL bulbs, along with confidential document shredding and electronic recycling.
Officials emphasized the environmental benefit of proper disposal and encouraged community members to participate.
