SeaTac Police / King County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that officers recently arrested a man armed with a knife at at SeaTac hotel:

Police say that in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020 at 1:20 a.m., SeaTac deputies were dispatched to a report of a person with a weapon at a hotel in the 3200 block of S. 176 Street (map below), in the city of SeaTac, which is a contract partner of the King County Sheriff’s Office.

When the deputy arrived on scene, he was flagged down by staff at the hotel entrance. He was told there was a male inside the hotel with a knife. When the suspect saw the deputy through the glass front doors, he put his hands up in the air and was eventually detained.

The deputy interviewed a frightened staff member who said the man came through the front doors holding the knife and came right toward her. The suspect said something to the effect of “they are chasing after me.” The employee ran into the back office and locked herself in, along with a manager.

Once locked in, they saw the suspect going through a desk. They notified hotel security, who then called 9-1-1.

The Deputy spoke to the suspect, who claimed he had an altercation with some males at a nearby store so he went to a friend’s home and grabbed a knife. He claimed he came to the hotel to get police assistance.

The suspect was booked in to the King County Jail for Assault with a Knife.

As a reminder, we do not show arrestee’s faces until they have been formally charged.
