The SeaTac City Council approved a contract for the city’s new City Manager Jonathan Young at its Dec. 10, 2024 regular meeting.

Young will start his new gig on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, and his contract is on a year-to-year basis at an annual salary of $272,000.

He was chosen after a several-months long national search by an outside consulting firm.

“I am grateful to the SeaTac City Council for choosing me to serve as the next city manager, and I am committed to serving the city with integrity and dedication,” said Young.

Young currently serves as the City Attorney of Vancouver, WA. He has 20 years of legal experience and is a specialist in Washington Municipal Law. As City Attorney, Young has advised Vancouver’s city manager and city council on their roles, duties, and powers.

Between now and his start date, Young will work with Interim City Manager Kyle Moore to facilitate a smooth transition
