With temperatures dropping this week, the city has opened the SeaTac Community Center as a warming center to provide relief for residents in need of a warm, safe space.
The National Weather Service is predicting that lows will hit the 30s starting Wednesday night, Jan. 15, 2025, with a low around 27 expected on Sunday night, Jan. 19.
The SeaTac Community Center, located at 13735 24th Ave S. (map below), will operate Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Additionally, the Valley View Library on the east side of town (map below) will also be available as a warming option during its regular hours.
These centers are part of the city’s efforts to ensure that residents have access to warmth and safety during extreme weather conditions.
Residents are encouraged to share this information with those who may need assistance.
