The season of love is here! With crispness in the air and the promise of spring around the corner, Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to stop and celebrate the love in your life.

Northwest Symphony Orchestra Concert
The Northwest Symphony Orchestra (NWSO) once again brings their vibrant Valentine’s concert to Highline Performing Arts Center. The NWSO is committed to shining a spotlight on contemporary Northwest composers while also performing, promoting and educating the public about the full spectrum of classical music.
The program for this concert includes:
- One Happy Overture (World Premiere)- Huntley Beyer
- Viola Concerto in G Major (Largo and Allegro)- G.P. Telemann
Mason Nguyen, Key to Change student soloist - Chanson de Nuit- Edward Elgar
- Wedding Day at Troldhaugen- Edvard Grieg
- Symphony No. 3- Johannes Brahms

Renton Civic Theater Show
RCTC is bringing the relationship-centric comedy “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” to the stage starting Friday, Feb. 14.
The synopsis of the show published on the RCTS website gives a glimpse into what to expect.
“Experience the hilarity and heart of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change! This musical comedy explores the rollercoaster ride of relationships, from first dates to long-term commitment, with sharp wit and relatable humor. Featuring catchy songs and laugh-out-loud scenarios, it’s a celebration of love in all its perfectly imperfect forms. Whether you’re single, coupled, or somewhere in between, this show is sure to have you nodding along and laughing out loud. Don’t miss this lighthearted and charming theatrical treat!“

Burien Actors Theatre
BAT is also opening a romantic comedy starting Friday, Feb. 14 called “Beginning.”
This performance is the U.S. Premiere of a show that has enjoyed success on London’s West End.
BAT’s website offers some insight into the story:
“…it’s the early hours of the morning and Danny’s the last straggler at Laura’s housewarming party. The flat’s a mess, and so are they. One more drink? A funny, astute, poignant two-hander that takes an intimate look at being forty-ish and single—and those first fragile moments of risking your heart.“

Sleight of Hand Cellars SoDo
While this event is not local to South King County, the Valentine’s Dance at Sleight of Hand Cellars will feature the Cure tribute band The Lovecats whose members are local to Burien and Normandy Park.
The $35 entrance fee includes a gift bag with a Valentine’s Day Card from The Lovecats, red lipstick, black nail polish and a special surprise snack. Everyone also gets professional photos by Ian Phares with a fun backdrop that will be available for you to download:

Seattle Chocolate
Seattle Chocolate doubles as entertainment and a sweet treat!
Buy all manner of chocolatey goodness in the shop and take an hour-long interactive tour of the chocolate factory.
During the guided tour experience, you’ll learn about the history of chocolate, how the brand sources their chocolate ethically, and of course taste lots of chocolate along the way!
