Tukwila Police are investigating an overnight shooting that left one man hospitalized with a gunshot wound, following a dispute between two individuals experiencing homelessness.

Officers responded to the 16300 block of Christensen Road (map below) late Tuesday night after receiving a report of gunfire. They found an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound and administered aid until medics arrived. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment.

According to investigators, the victim was uncooperative with officers and did not provide details about the incident. A K9 search for the suspect was conducted but did not result in an arrest.

Police later determined the actual shooting occurred just north of where the victim was located.

“The victim is a known transient and the incident is believed to have stemmed from a dispute between him and another transient which escalated into gunfire,” police said in a statement.

The case has been forwarded to the Major Crimes Unit (MCU) for further investigation.
