A child was rescued and hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a fire broke out in an apartment in the 17300 block of 32nd Avenue South in SeaTac on Saturday night, April 26, 2025, according to Puget Sound Fire.

Fire crews responded to reports of smoke and a sounding alarm.

Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from a single apartment unit and were told that someone might still be inside.

“The crew quickly rescued one child from the apartment. No other victims were found,” Puget Sound Fire reported on social media.

King County Medic One transported the child to a trauma center.

The fire was rapidly contained and did not spread beyond the single unit.
