GRIT Spine and Sports Therapy, led by Dr. Emily Zacharias, DC of Burien, has opened its doors in a convenient Seahurst location near St. Francis of Assisi School.

Meet Dr. Emily Zacharias, DC.

Dr. Zacharias is excited to bring her years of knowledge, training and personal experience to clients of all ages seeking to optimize their physical wellbeing through patient education, empowerment, and treatment.

Being here was an easy decision since this is, after all, home to Dr. Zacharias. She is a proud Highline High School alum who grew up in the Seahurst/Gregory Heights area. She was a competitive swimmer and coach at the Gregory Heights Swim club for years. Despite the joy she felt competing and training, her experience was marred by recurring concerns centering around her spinal health. Diagnosis was elusive as she sustained injuries and chronic pain, until over time she found the true causes of the issues she was encountering. She credits the help of physical therapists and her Chiropractor in helping her remain functional.

It is this journey that inspired her to study chiropractic and obtain her certifications. Although it’s been a long road, she is enthusiastic about bringing personal attention and individualized patient-centered care to her clients so that they can get back to whatever activities make their life pleasurable. Whether it’s pursuing recreation and sports, or simply being able to clean their house pain free, Dr. Zacharias can help a wide variety of clients.

Through a combination of therapies, including Myofascial Release, Chiropractic adjustments and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), clients experience improvement. Rehabilitative exercises and selective functional movement assessment can also help clients to   learn to move in a pain free range of motion.

Dr. Zacharias takes her role as your partner in supporting your health with the same sort of focus and determination, as she has on her own health journey. She chose the name GRIT because of it’s meaning of perseverance, and the toughness to stick with it to achieve results.

Her studio is intimate and peaceful, with easy parking and a clean feel.

Patient empowerment is a particular focus for Dr. Zacaharias. She wants you to know that “you are not as fragile as you might think,” and with proper care you can build strength and flexibility to support wellness and longevity.

If pain and injury has taken you out of the action, you owe it to yourself to check out GRIT Spine and Sports Therapy’s website. Their comprehensive approach can yield impressive results. Don’t keep suffering, come see what they can do for you.
