Candidates for King County Executive and King County Council District 5 will take part in a community forum from 3 – 5 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, to discuss displacement and equitable development in South King County, according to Puget Sound Sage.

The event, titled Rooted in Place: King County Candidate Forum, is hosted by the King County Equitable Development Initiative Coalition.

It will run from 3 to 5 p.m. at Highline College’s Mt. Constance and Olympus Rooms, located in Building 8 (map below).

Confirmed participants include King County Councilmembers Claudia Balducci and Girmay Zahilay, who are both running for King County Executive.

Candidates for King County Council District 5, Steffanie Fain and Peter Kwon, have also been invited.

Organizers say the forum is the only event of this election cycle focused specifically on displacement pressures and equitable development in South King County, where rising housing costs and access to community resources remain central concerns.

The event is hosted by the King County Equitable Development Initiative Coalition, which includes members such as Puget Sound Sage, White Center Community Development Association, Na’ah Illahee Fund, Multicultural Community Coalition, Eastside for All, and Friends of Little Saigon.
