Meet cuddly kittens Beetle and Salamander, the Regional Animal Services of King County’s (RASKC) Pets of the Week! These special needs girls would love to go to a home together.
Due to severe damage to both eyes from an upper respiratory infection, Beetle had both eyes removed and cannot see, but does amazing getting around! Salamander also had an eye removed due to irreversible damage from an eye infection, and her left eye has a small corneal abrasion needing topical medication.
Blind cats can live full, happy lives and many owners report they act like they still have vision! You can help them adjust by keeping consistent environments, keeping them indoors only, and making sure that other pets and children are respectful of their needs.
Both Beetle and Salamander are spayed, litterbox trained, current on vaccinations, and microchipped! Their adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. As Pets of the Week, their adoption fee has been reduced!
If you’re looking to add a couple of lovebugs with special needs to your family, please come down to RASKC to visit them! You can find out more about Beetle and Salamander and their other furry friends at:
