Due to a statewide data system outage caused by “unauthorized activity,” SeaTac Municipal Court is currently operating with limited services until further notice, the City announced on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024.
The court is located within the SeaTac City Hall building at 4800 S. 188th Street.
The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) identified “unauthorized activity” on the Washington Courts network, and said that they have taken immediate action to secure critical systems and are working to safely restore service.
“Please be advised that there will be intermittent impacts to accessibility of our public website and systems in the coming days as we continue to restore services,” AOC officials said. “We apologize for any inconvenience.”
It is unknown yet if this is related to some sort of cyberattack.
The outages in SeaTac include:
- Limited Services at Front Counter: The Court Clerk’s Office will remain open to the public during the outage with limited services. Officials encourage court customers to call or email before visiting in person at 206-973-4610 or municipalcourt@seatacwa.gov to confirm that the Court Clerk’s office is able to assist at this time. Payment on a case may only be made online or by calling Ncourt. The Court Clerk’s office will not accept payment.
- Hearings on Traffic Tickets: The Court is currently unable to process traffic tickets. All hearings will be rescheduled to a future date after the state system is functional.
- Proceedings in Criminal Cases: Those scheduled for a hearing on a criminal case should attend Court on that scheduled date and time. If you have further questions, please contact your attorney.
- Scheduled Support Services/Probation Appointments: Appointments are unaffected by the outage and will take place as scheduled.
