Greystar Real Estate Partners, alongside Canadian developer GMC Projects, this week broke ground on Birchway Angle Lake, a 289-unit apartment community located at 19825 International Boulevard in SeaTac.

The Birchway Angle Lake development represents the second project in a strategic venture backed by Greystar and investment partner Whitman Peterson.

Designed to provide residents with an accessible suburban lifestyle, Birchway Angle Lake will offer garden-style apartments in studio, one-, and two-bedroom configurations. The complex will feature amenities including a rooftop deck with views of Puget Sound and Mt. Rainier, a modern fitness center, coworking and creative spaces, private work pods, and a TV lounge.

“We are extremely proud to bring Birchway Angle Lake to Washington state and SeaTac,” said Aaron Keeler, Managing Director of Development at Greystar. “Focusing on providing new apartments at attainable rent levels, we worked with Whitman Peterson to secure equity financing. We’d also like to thank GMC Projects for their partnership and help in finding a creative deal structure that worked for all partners.”

Located directly across from the Angle Lake light rail station, Birchway Angle Lake offers easy access to Seattle, Bellevue, and Tacoma, along with proximity to SeaTac airport and nearby employment hubs. Major highways I-5, I-99, and I-90 provide convenient regional access for future residents.

The project’s design team includes Seattle-based Weinstein A+U Architects, CT Engineers for structural engineering, Karen Kiest for landscape architecture, and Lair Design for interior aesthetics. Greystar serves as the lead developer, general contractor, and property manager for the project, while GMC Projects managed site acquisition in 2019 and secured the necessary entitlements.

Pre-leasing for Birchway Angle Lake is anticipated to begin in early 2026, with construction completion targeted for mid-2026.
