A pedestrian died Tuesday morning, Mar. 25, 2025, after falling from an overpass onto the SR 518 freeway in SeaTac, where they were struck by a vehicle, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
The incident occurred at approximately 8:46 a.m. Tuesday morning on westbound SR 518 just east of SR 99.
Authorities said the pedestrian was standing on the overpass above the highway when they fell into the second lane of traffic.
Sadly, the victim died at the scene.
Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fall, and the incident remains under investigation.
UPDATE 5:30 p.m.: After notifying her next-of-kin, Troopers released the identity of the victim Tuesday afternoon as Marinela D. Leroy, 40, of SeaTac.
A vehicle driven by a 32-year-old man from Kent struck the victim, officials said. The driver was not injured, and two child passengers, ages 10 and 7, were also unharmed. The driver was wearing a seatbelt, and no charges have been filed, WSP reported.
The collision blocked the roadway for nearly three hours before it was cleared.
Authorities said drugs and alcohol were not involved.
