As we previously reported, the SeaTac City Council placed Interim City Manager Kyle Moore on administrative leave, effective Monday, Dec. 23, and on Thursday, Dec. 26 appointed Deputy City Manager Gwen Voelpel to serve as Acting City Manager until Jan. 16, 2025.
The council’s decision comes as Moore faces an ongoing investigation into allegations of a “toxic workplace environment.”
Voelpel, who has served as Deputy City Manager since Nov. 2019, will oversee operations during the interim period.
Jonathan Young, previously announced as the city’s permanent City Manager, is still scheduled to assume the role on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025.
“The City staff will continue to operate at a high level, caring for the SeaTac community as usual,” the city said in a statement.
The city will run at a high level?
The previous city manager left.
The leading candidate for city manager pull out.
The city attorney left.
The deputy city manager put in her resignation.
Sounds like this high level is well below the equator.
